Lot B46

Description:

AJS/Matchless Sprint Special Race Bike
Reg. no. n/a
Frame no. Unknown
Engine no. Unknown
Obviously subject to the usual safety and mechanical checks this is very nearly a ready to go classic sprint bike, well known on the sprint and hill climb circuit it has been campaigned for many seasons and given its owner years of enjoyment. The engine is engineered from a 1941 G3 set of crankcases and barrel, a 1937 AJS head and timing chest and drives through a Burman GB close ratio gearbox. The frame is 1937 AJS with 1930s Royal Enfield 350 girder forks up front. It runs on methanol through a 1/1/16 AMAL TT carburettor and the whole bike has undergone a lot of work recently. Its owner said it runs and rides as an old school sprinter should but would still benefit from a bit more fettling.
Comes with - no documentation.
