1956 Harley Davidson FLE Panhead 1200cc

Frame no. t.b.a.
Engine no. 56 FLE 4723
The ‘Panhead’ was a Harley Davidson motorcycle V twin engine so called the due to the shape of its rocker covers, they were said to look like an upside-down pan. This engine replaced the legendary ‘Knucklehead’ engine in 1948 and was in production until 1965 when it was replaced by the ‘Shovelhead\' engined bike. As can be seen there is a theme here that has allowed Harley enthusiasts to recognise the engine and period of the model, simply by looking at the rocker cover.
Condition: This bike has not been used for many years and would appear to be an ideal restoration project as the bike appears to be fairly complete and in reasonable condition.
