1966 Triumph Thunderbird 650cc
Reg. no. JAD 9D
Frame no. 6T DU42236
Engine no. 6T DU42236
The 6T Thunderbird needs no introduction, it was a favourite with police forces across the country. The police bikes came with upgraded engines, different gearing for high speed pursuit duty and were registered in the original logbooks under ‘Type or Model’ as a 6T SAINT an acronym for ‘Stop Anything In No Time’.
Condition: this superb bike is one of a consignment of seven bikes ordered by the Gloucester Police Force and they all came with the police upgrades and consecutive registration numbers. The contact number for the Police Sergeant who ordered these bikes in 1966 will be given to the new owner and he is happy to talk about them. Rick Parkington, for an article in the Classic Bike Magazine, rebuilt the running gear with new bearings and bushes and the rear swinging arm was totally redone, the brakes, clutch and forks were also overhauled. This bike is well known to the Brooklands Museum Team and is in excellent condition. Described by the owner as very easy to start and running well without any problems.

Comes with – a current V5C, a Triumph Owners Club dating certificate, the original logbook, magazine articles and advertising, receipts, etc.
