Lot B26

Description:

1969 BSA A65 Firebird Scrambler 650cc
Reg. no. RCD 503G
Frame no. EC22386A65F
Engine no. EC22386A65F
Built for the 1960s and early 1970s American and Canadian market that had developed a large following for off-road style motorbikes, even if most never left the tarmac. The BSA Firebird Scrambler with its twin high pipes, tyre hugging front fender, comfortable seat and sculptured tank had the looks. Combine this with the neat, powerful, unit construction engine, twin carbs, twin leading shoe front brakes and you have the full package. Unfortunately, the high cost and the influx of the then new cheaper Japanese motorbike, meant few were sold and genuine examples are now hard to find.
Condition: this bike was a stripped down imported matching numbers machine that has undergone a full nut and bolt restoration over the last couple of years. The owner has said that every moving part has been restored or replaced and the only non-factory spec details are the colour, alloy wheel rims and some stainless-steel fasteners/items. Everything is described as being in excellent working condition and has only just covered 400 miles since restoration.

Comes with - a current V5C.
