The Rickman brothers, Derek and Don were fully established stars of the motocross scene when they built their first Mk1 Metisse motorcycle and within a short period they became one of the biggest and best known independent frame and bike makers. The many off-road racing successes achieved provided the catalyst for Metisse’s innovative design and engineering excellence. In the 70s, further recognition was achieved in the USA with their bikes competing in desert racing and championed by the likes of Steve McQueen and Bud Ekins.

Condition - The previous owner had this bike from 1993 to 2017 during which time he completely rebuilt the bike including nickel plating the frame, full engine rebuild to include amongst many other upgrades being dynamically balanced by Basset Down Engineering, a new wide ratio gearbox, Boyer electronic ignition, stainless steel wheel rims and the bodywork was resprayed in a similar colour to the Steve McQeen bike. The present owner says it still runs and performs really well both on and off road.

Comes with - A current V5C, old MOT Certificates and a Certificate of Authenticity authenticity from the late Pat French at MRD who checked the original records and provided the certificate.
