The words \'modern classic\' are banded about very freely but I feel it is a highly appropriate label for this car. During the 1980s the Peugeot 205 turned around the fortunes of a previously conservative manufacturer; here was a car whose exterior styling was so well regarded that it was never facelifted in the 15 year production run. The 1.6 litre GTi was launched in 1984 and much of the model\'s success must be laid at their Rally credentials, where the model proved to be a highly effective machine. The CTi was the cabriolet version made with the same plastic arches and wheels as the 1.6 GTi, later versions incorporating the larger capacity 1.9 unit. This car is completely standard except for a \'performance back box\' fitted to the exhaust, passing it\'s latest MOT with no advisories. Recent expenditure includes the fitting of new tyres, the wheels have been reconditioned, the cambelt and waterpump have been changed, a new catalytic converter fitted, a new stereo, new brake pads at the front and new handbrake cables. The engine has also been dyno-tested and all fluids have also been changed. Said by the vendor to be in very good all-round condition, this 205 has been steadily improved by him whilst only taking it out on dry days. Now reluctantly being offered due to a house sale, this genuine 1.9 205 is available with the current MOT and a V5c.
