Lot 2102

Description:

1968 Morris Mini Mk. II - a very original example
Reg. no. ANK 452G
Chassis no. A256586761
Engine no. MUH1318806
Manufactured in Oxford in 1968 this Mini was shipped to dealers in Cyprus where it spent its life before returning to the UK in 2017. Fully UK standard in detail, this almond green Mk. II Mini spent life in the warn climate of Cyprus where it was hidden away following the Turkish invasion in 1974. The climate and concealment have contributed to its condition and unique low mileage, it was last used in 1971!
Restoration took place in Cyprus during 2016/17 by a qualified Rolls-Royce engineer, the car was repainted in two-pack and had new stainless steel bumpers and over-riders and the interior was retrimmed. The carburettor was rebuilt in 2015, a new clutch cylinder was fitted in 2016 and a new aluminum radiator and water pump were fitted in April last year followed by two new tyres two months later. Electronic ignition has also been fitted.
Only showing 8,894 miles on the odometer which the vendor believes is correct, with some back up documentation from the Cyprus government, the car is certainly very smart, coming from a small island and being hidden for over 40 years. In the file there is a selection of bills, a V5c and an MOT that will have just expired at the time of the sale.
