Lot 2010

Description:

1954 BSA D3 Bantam Major
Reg. no. KBX 758
Frame no. BD2S 29379
Engine no. BD3B2724
The D3 Major was essentially a development of the original D1 Bantam, although the latter still continued to be built alongside the D3. The D3 was fitted with a larger capacity unit, 150cc and it sported a more modern looking dual seat, rather than the now old-fashioned sprung saddle with rack behind. In addition, the front suspension was uprated. This example was first registered in July 1954 and was one of the first Bantams with plunger suspension. It was bought as a \'box of bits\' by the present owner and then restored over the following two years and the BSA is now regularly ridden. During the restoration new wheels were fitted, all of the brightwork was refurbished and the frame blast cleaned and painted. It is now offered with a V5c, an old style logbook and an MOT certificate.
*There are a number of spares included with the bike, including a cylinder, a piston and a cylinder head.
