Description:

1961 AJS 250cc
Reg. no. 866 YUX
Frame no. 11245
Engine no. 61/148887
AJS was the name used by A J Stevens Ltd. from 1909 to 1931; in this period of time they held no less than 117 motorcycle records. In 1931 The company was bought by Matchless and then they formed Amalgamated Motor Cycles Ltd. (AMC). In 1974 the name of AJS was sold again to a company making 2-stroke scramblers and today they manufacture a low volume of 4-stroke road bikes. Our vendor states that this bike is in excellent condition, having been restored between 2013 and 2016. 866 YUX was originally supplied to the Isle of Man, therefore keeping the mileage low, before returning to the mainland in 2014, when much of the restoration work was carried out. In the file is a great deal of history including an Isle of Man logbook, a selection of bills, a current MOT that expires in November this year and a V5c.
