AJS in the 1930s produced a wide range of forward thinking engines, which included a supercharged OHC V-four 500cc, and a 500cc parallel twin double OHC known as the \'Porcupine\' due to its unusual finning. The main output from the firm however, was the 350cc and 500cc single cylinder OHV engines which were both good reliable workhorses. They were sold as road and also competition bikes. This AJS has the sought after twin port head and it was owned from new by the Gleeson family who own the famous motorcycle museum. It is sold here with a current V5c.
