Lot 1959

Description:

1933 Fiat Balilla pillarless two door saloon
Reg. no. 517 YUS
Chassis no. 40911
Engine no. Unknown
The 508 Balilla was a compact car that was designed in 1932 for a new market that demanded small and economical cars, that were also easy to drive. The car was powered by a more than adequate 995cc 4-cylinder side-valve that gave a top speed of approximately 50mph. This rare little pillarless saloon has received a bare-metal restoration with a brake overhaul and all new tyres, following its importation into the UK from France many years ago. The vendor tells us that it runs and drives very well, giving a more spritely performance than many of its contemporaries. It is sold with a V5c.
