Lot 1959

Description:

1991 Nissan Figaro
Reg. no. J598 HSA
Chassis no. t.b.a.
Engine no. t.b.a.
Initially launched at the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show, the Figaro was based on the Nissan Micra and was manufactured for 1991 only. 8,000 were initially planned, but due to a higher than anticipated demand, over 20,000 were made. The car was essentially styled as a retro-looking fixed profile convertible and it was made in four colours representing the seasons, with a leather interior, air conditioning, a CD player and a slide-back open roof. Good examples are hard to find today, and this one doesn\'t appear to have any of the rust issues that are normally found, following a great deal of expenditure in recent years. A full respray was carried out two years ago and a new rear wheel arch was fitted on the driver\'s side. The engine and chassis were recently serviced with lots of new parts fitted including brake shoes, a turbo and ball joints. In addition a rebuilt cylinder head with new rings was fitted in 2012. It is in good overall condition however there are a few marks as one would expect with a vehicle of this age. There is a small sinkage crack to the rear wheel arch, an indent in the lower chrome finish plate and the front centre chrome bumper could do with replacement. There is also the usual crack to the dashboard top and a crack to the passenger mirror. Overall though the car is in excellent condition and it is offered with all MOT certificates, the original manuals and key. There is also a V5c.
