Lot 1950

1934 Morris 10/4 Saloon
Reg. no. BPL 905
Chassis no. 41780
Engine no. 36662
Like their rivals Austin, Morris knew that the 10hp sector of the market was vital, and for 1933 they introduced a very good car that sat very neatly between the smaller 8 and the larger models. It was such a good design that it continued with variants until October 1948. At less than £170 the car was affordable for the masses yet large enough to transport whole families for their holidays, at a time where travel was so important and Britain\'s seasides sudddenly became accessible. Having been restored in the late 1980s/early 1990s this example is still in very good all-round condition and our vendor tells us that the engine is running well. In the most recent ownership, the car has been used for local weddings and as a runabout. Within the file, there are photographs of the earlier restoration, a V5c and an old-style logbook.
