Lot 1944

1981 Rover 100 P4 Saloon
Reg. no. 9468 NK
Chassis no. 65010187
Engine no. 650101299
In 1959, the Rover P4 was given a new engine, a short-stroke 2.6 litre version of the unit fitted to the new, larger 3-litre P5. This produced 93bhp, enough to propel these mobile drawing rooms, full of wood and leather, to 100mph. Front disc brakes were introduced, and overdrive became a standard fitting. The P4 had become renowned for its build quality and this continued, despite losing its place at the top of the range to the equally excellent P5.
This 1961 \'100\' is in good all-round condition, the only known issue being the overdrive not working. Last taxed for the road in 1991, the car may naturally benefit from some further recommissioning, but this should be a simple process. It comes with a V5c.
