1983 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit Mulsanne
Reg. no. 864 AYG
Chassis no. SCAZ5008DCH07802
Engine no. 07802
Introduced in 1980, the Silver Spirit was the first car built on the SZ platform, which would be the basis of most Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars for the next 23 years. More a development and redesign of the Silver Shadow than an entirely new car, the Silver Spirit continued to use the 6.75 litre V8 and 3-speed GM automatic gearbox, while the hydropneumatic suspension was improved with the addition of a Girling automatic ride height control system and improved shock absorbers. This gave the new car the magic-carpet ride that Rolls-Royce have always been so keen to ensure; passengers could waft along in the Silver Spirit, protected from the road by the superb ride, and from the ravages of the modern world by the traditional opulence of the interior.
This 1983 example is in good condition. It comes with a V5c, a service book, some bills and an MOT until August 2018.
