Lot 1932

1965 Vanden Plas Princess 1100
Reg. no. DNX 600C
Chassis no. VAS1.3108
Engine no. 10V-TAH3243
The Vanden Plas brand was a subsiduary of the Austin Company and it was designed as a luxury model in the range. From October 1962 \'Princess\' was used on a deluxe version of the Austin/Morris 1100. Nearly 44,000 cars were made for a motoring public who still craved quality. The current owner purchased the car from a deceased estate in a partly restored state; the car was then recomissioned. We are told that the engine is now running with good oil pressure and that the car drives very well. This Princess is the rarer Mk. I that was fitted with the same engine as the Mk. I MG 1100; it was little wonder that when road tested in 1965, a top speed of 87mph was recorded. There is a selection of old bills, some old MOTs, a handbook, an old buff logbook and a current V5c.
