Lot 1899

Description:

1961 Triumph 650cc Bonneville
Reg. no. BHU 289A
Frame no. D11623
Engine no. D11623
The original Triumph Bonneville was a 650cc parallel twin motorcycle manufactured by Triumph Engineering and later by Norton Villiers Triumph between 1959 and 1974. It was based on the company\'s Triumph Tiger T110. Initially it was produced with a pre-unit construction engine which enabled the bike to comfortably achieve 115mph without further modification. The steering angle was altered and improved forks were fitted a couple of years later, which, together with the increased stiffness enabled overall performance to match that of the Bonneville\'s rivals. This example has been in current ownership since 1978 and was restored to a high standard between 2012 and 2014. It is offered here in good all round condition with a V5c and an MOT certificate.
