1921 Royal Enfield 1000cc V Twin
Reg. no. FC 2952
Frame no. 14556
Engine no. 8/67414/EXL
In 1898 Royal Enfield were making 3-wheelers powered by De Dion engines. In the early 1900s they started producing motorbikes, power by Minerva, JAP and MAG engines. From about 1925 most of the range were powered by their own engines ranging from 225cc 2-strokes to a large 1000cc V Twin. The Royal Enfield factory were regularly competing in road races and in the mid 20s E.Magner of Sweden broke the world speed record over one mile with his JAP V Twin powered sidecar outfit. The bike in the auction is a good basis for restoration and is a wonderful and unusual bike. The V Twin JAP engine is the same 1000cc unit that was used on the Brough Superior. This one has resided in the Hitchcock Collection, Folkstone since 2005 and is now offered to the market with a V5c registration document and an old logbook.
