Engine no. 1242003
The company we now know as MZ were formed in 1906 and they became the first to develop a 2-stroke engine for road vehicles, as well as leading the development of 2-stroke engines worldwide. The first motorcycles were branded DKW. After WWII, now owned by the East German state, the company changed their name to IFA, but it wasn\'t until the mid 1950s that the name MZ appeared, with 125cc, 150cc and 250cc models on offer. By 1980 the 2,000,000th motorcycle rode off their production line. This MZ is said to be in running order, but it generally requires restoration and is sold with a current V5c.
